BBFC - The British Board of Film Classification is an independent, non-governmental body, which has exercised responsibilities over cinema for a hundred years, and over video and subsequently DVD since 1985. They are mainly responsible for classifying films with ratings of U, PG, 12A, 15 and 18.
PEGI - The Pan-European Game Information age rating system was established to help European parents make informed decisions on buying computer games. It was launched in spring 2003 and replaced a number of national age rating systems with a single system now used throughout most of Europe, in 30 countries
IPSO - Independent Press Standards Organisation is the new independent regulator for the newspaper and magazine industry in the UK. They recently replaced the PCC. ASA - Advertising Standards Authority is the UK’s independent regulator for advertising across all media, their work includes acting on complaints and proactively checking the media to take action against misleading, harmful or offensive advertisements, sales promotions and direct marketing.
OFCOM - The Office of Communications is the government-approved regulatory and competition authority for the broadcasting, telecommunications and postal industries of the United Kingdom.
